Form Structural Engineers
We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our growing team.
You will be joining a new practice in its infancy, you will not only be able to put your existing experience to good use but also be able to gain and understanding and have involvement in the development of a new business!
Based in Truro we operate throughout Devon and Cornwall. We currently work mostly in the residential and commercial sectors on a wide spectrum of projects that range in size from small domestic alterations up to large multi-million pound projects in interesting locations. We are looking for an engineer capable of creative thinking to resolve design challenges whilst undertaking the detailed structural design and analysis of elements and frames in concrete, steel, timber and masonry, liaising directly with architects and other members of the design team to meet project deadlines.
It’s an excellent opportunity to be part of an already very busy and growing company. The existing team are welcoming and well established in their fields so this also offers a great opportunity to learn and develop from them.
There will be the opportunity to complete inspections of existing buildings and site visits during construction to confirm design compliance.
All candidates need to have a suitable engineering degree MEng/BEng in civil or structural engineering,
ideally with 2+ years of experience and working towards chartership with the IStructE or ICE.
Strong communication, analysis and technical design skills are essential.

Form Structural Technicians
We have an exciting opportunity for a structural technician to join our growing team.
Working mostly in the residential and commercial sectors we are looking for a capable structural technician. Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD is essential and 3D modelling experience using Revit is desirable.
The technician will be responsible for the creation and management of structural engineering drawings and models to communicate the structural design in a clear, organised and well-presented manner.
Good communication skill are essential, the technician will be expected to liaise with other design team members and manage drawings through online document systems.
Position overview:
• Create detailed technical drawings and building models in 2D and 3D.
• Produce plans, sections elevations from the models to communicate the structural design.
• Use Building Information Modelling to integrate the structural design with the architecture and building services to provide a co-ordinated design.
• Use of online document systems.
• Conduct site visits and surveys.
Experience and skills:
• Ideally HNC / HND in a Civil or Structural Engineering / Construction Discipline.
• Ability to liaise with clients and contractors.
• Proficient AutoCAD user with experience in other design packages including Revit.
• Broad technical knowledge in structural detailing.
• 3D modelling, BIM, and architectural visualisation skills.
• RC detailing experience is beneficial.
